Our play dough is handmade in small batches in Austin, TX, from flour, water, salt, cream of tartar, vegetable oil, food coloring and essential oils for scent.

No. Our play dough is made with wheat flour, so it contains gluten and isn't a good fit for children with a wheat or gluten allergy.

Keep the lid on tight and store the dough in the airtight jar it comes in. Stored that way, it stays fresh for 3+ months.

Each single jar holds 5 oz of dough. Our scent trios come with three jars.

Our play dough and sensory kits include small pieces, so they're not recommended for children under 3 or for kids who still put things in their mouths. Please supervise little ones during play. Each listing notes its own age guidance.

Our peg dolls, mushrooms and other wooden pieces are hand-painted with non-toxic acrylic paint, and many are finished with natural beeswax.

Most of our wooden sets have small pieces and aren't meant for children under 3. Our Jumbo and Large peg dolls are sized for toddlers; check each listing for details.

Yes. Most wooden sets come in a reusable gift bag or kraft box, so they're ready for gifting.

Most play dough and sensory kits ship within 1–2 business days. Other items usually ship within 5 business days unless the listing says otherwise. You'll get a tracking number by email as soon as your order ships.

Yes! US orders over $50 ship free.

Yes, for an extra charge shown at checkout. International customers are responsible for any customs fees and taxes.

You can request a return within 5 days of receiving your order. Items need to be unused and in their original packaging, with your receipt or proof of purchase. Email us at hello@threeyellowstarfish.com to start a return. If it's approved, we'll send you a return label and instructions. Please don't send items back without contacting us first.
